City Hall

City Hall

1811

Architects: Joseph-François Mangin and John McComb Jr.

Address: City Hall Park, Manhattan

You can’t fight it, and, more to the point, you can’t get close enough any more to actually shoot it, as the barriers in the foreground will attest. However, by cranking the tripod up as far as it would go, I was able to shoot over fencing and hedges from a vantage point in City Hall Park, and the results didn’t turn out too bad; I kind of like the angle of view. Built in 1811 by Joseph-François Mangin and John McComb Jr., it’s been altered several times over the centuries but it remains the oldest continually-operating City Hall in America.
