Ladies and Gentlemen…Steven Holl, Master of Light. What a great little design cube when seen from Manhattan across the East River, but it’s even better close-up. The other side of the building is equally stunning but there are two serendipidous reasons why I chose this: first, it was directly behind me as I was shooting the United Nations Building, and second, I absolutely love the winter-bare tree in the foreground, further complementing Holl’s wonderful design aesthetic. One of my favorite new pieces of construction in New York.
