Macy's Herald Square

Macy's Herald Square

1902

Architects: de Lemos & Cordes, Robert D. Kohn, Studio V Architecture
Address: 151 W. 34th Street, Manhattan
Firmly anchoring the western edge of the bric-a-brac architectural muddle that is Herald Square, Macy's has been welcoming hordes of customers since 1902. Additional structures have been added to the building over the years, but it's the original Broadway facade, with its bay windows and excellent clock, that draw the eye, whenever you can actually stop to appreciate it--which, given the foot and pedestrian traffic in Herald Square, is almost never.
