American Museum of Natural History

American Museum of Natural History

1877-1936

Architects: J Wray Mould, J Cleaveland Cady, John Russell Pope
Address: Central Park West & W. 79th Street, Manhattan
Built in stages over 50 years by a variety of architects, this "classic" Beaux-Arts facade of the museum's east entrance was executed in 1936 by John Russell Pope. This was shot the night before the 2016 NYC Marathon, hence the police barriers lining Central Park West. The four carved figures at the top are Jimmy Page, Robert Plant, John Paul Jones, and John Bonham (ok, ok, it's actually Daniel Boone, John James Audubon, Meriwether Lewis, and William Clark). The taxi was, of course, dropping off Ben Stiller on his way to work
