Brooklyn Health Center
2018
Architects: Francis Cauffman, FCA
Address: 265 Ashland Place, Brooklyn
Rising up from a former BAM parking lot and in the midst of a whole raft of new construction in the immediate area, the Brooklyn Health Center, funded by The New York Hotel Trades Council, whatever that is, is a 12-story mixed-use (commerical, residential, and as-yet-unleased ground floor retail), alternately curved-and-spiked structure on Fulton Street between Ashland Place and St. Felix Street. That’s a whole lot of meanlingless info, I know, but nonetheless, at night, from the “edged” corner, the building is rather stunning. Kudos to architect Francis Cauffman for dropping it into the BAM Cultural Distirct.
